Young's extends microwaveable fish range with great British classic

Young's has extended its innovative Micro range with the launch this spring of Micro Fish Fingers and Chips, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Findus Group.

The new product contains four fish fingers and a portion (100g) of microwavable chips.

The fish fingers boast the unique, specially formulated crumb coating of the original Young's Micro Fish Finger, launched in September 2009. The coating and its innovative packaging technology prevent moisture from the fish entering the crumb - resulting in a crispy rather than soggy fish finger after microwaving from frozen for just three minutes.

Micro Fish Fingers and Chips are set to appeal to young adults and families in search of a quick and tasty on-the-go option. Launching in time for the World Cup, the product will offer football fans the ideal half-time snack to enjoy at home!

Commenting on the launch, Charlotte Broughton, marketing controller for Young's Seafood, said: "The launch of the Micro Fish Finger last year heralded a major, long-awaited breakthrough for quick and easy food. To keep up the momentum and offer more unique, great-tasting products to fit into peoples' busy lifestyles, we've now added the most natural range extension to our microwaveable range; fish fingers and chips.

"This is a quick and simple snack option that appeals strongly to consumer tastes and needs. Fish fingers and chips is one of Britain's favourite meals - this product is great for 'fish-fearful' consumers and another step in our campaign to help encourage the nation to eat fish twice a week."

Micro Fish Fingers and Chips are available in Asda from 11th April 2010. Sold in 200g packs, the product will RRP at £1.59.
