Wegmans Partners With Global Aquaculture Alliance
The Global Aquaculture Alliance has partnered with Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. to assist with the supermarket chain's aquaculture sustainability program, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to GAA.
Reflecting its continued commitment to sustainable aquaculture, Wegmans will work with GAA to develop guidelines for its aquaculture program that require suppliers to source seafood from environmentally responsible sources. The areas of the supply chain to be covered are the processing facility, farm and hatchery.
Wegmans is a regional supermarket chain based in Rochester, New York, USA. Wegmans operates 77 stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland.
