Vladivostok seeking larger share of saury quota

Despite currently favourable conditions for efficient fishing operations on the saury grounds the problem of limited saury quotas remains unsolved first of all for Primorye-based fishermen.

The current saury season has been notable for record high catch rates and the scientists’ optimistic forecasts for its continuation. This can be attributed first of all to the fishermen’s economic interest in the saury fishery, good scientific backup and favourable weather conditions.
