Ukrainian seafood importer to build fish processing plant

One of the largest seafood importers in the Ukraine Scandinavia Company is going to start building a new plant for production of canned fish and marinated fish preserves near the country's capital Kiev in the year 2008, according to LIGABusinessInform.

Scandinavia has already got a site and it is planning to finish construction of the new plant until the end of the current year 2007. However, it has not yet disclosed designed production capacities of the new plant.

Besides, in 2008 in the same Kiev Oblast Scandinavia is going to build a logistics centre for those goods which require special temperature regime. The centre's capacity is designed at 20,000 metric tons. Investments into the project are estimated at ca.35 million USD.

Scandinavia was established in 1996. The company has been exporting freshfrozen sea fish mostly from Norway. At present, Scandinavia owns two logistics centres of the total storage capacity of 15,000 tonnes in Kiev region and one 10,000-tonne facility in Berdyansk (Zaporozhskaya Oblast).
