Trends of Russian imports from Vietnam for 10 months of 2007
According to provisional figures of the Federal Customs Service for 10 months of 2007, the seafood import to Russia from Vietnam amounted to 43,951 tonnes of seafood products with the value of USD 88.3 million. Thus the volume of import has increased by 17% and the value of seafood import has come up by 19% in comparison with the same period of the year 2006 when the Vietnamese seafood export to Russia reached 37,510 tonnes with the value USD 74.2 million.
Total import of shrimp (HSC 0306 13) in January -October 2007 amounted to 389 tonnes vs 285 tonnes in 2006, the increase hitting 36%. The value of import has increased by 50% from USD 1.5 million to USD 2.2 million.
Import volume of shrimp Penaeus (HSC 0306 13 500) has increased more than 18% from 247 tonnes to 293 tonnes. The import value has increased by more than 46% from USD1.3 million to USD1.9 million.
Import volume of shrimp HSC 0306 13 800 (other shrimps) has grown 5.6 times from less than 17 tonnes to 96 tonnes. The import value has increased 6.5 times from USD48.7 thousand to USD316 thousand.
Surimi
Import volume of surimi for 10 months 2007 has decreased by 95% and amounted to 2,940 tonnes in comparison with 5.732 tonnes in the same period of the year 2006. The import value has lowered more than twice from USD10 million in 2006 to USD5.7 million in 2007.

VASEP
The value of Vietnamese seafood export for 10 months 2007 to Russia has amounted to USD 367.8 million. The increase has reached 12,3% comparing with the same period of 2006, according to VASEP.
