Skandi-Seafoods Ltd, a joint venture of such giants as Ocean Trawlers and A.Espersen, has commissioned a new fish plant to process Russian cod and haddock in Vietnam, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).

The plant has already received certificates of the British Retail Consortium of BRC and HACCP. The products will be shipped to the markets of Europe and the USA.

Located in Ho Chi Minh the plant will process mostly cod and haddock harvested by the Russian companies in the Barents Sea to the order of Ocean Trawlers.

The new facility will become a good alternative for customers purchasing products in China in case of a halt in shipments from China, just like it happened several years ago.

Background

In 2009 Skandi-Seafoods had a turnover of 83 million Euro with the figure expected to rise by 15-20% in 2010.

Along with the Vietnamese plant, Skandi has recently launched two new workshops at the premises of a fish processing plant in China.
