The latest circular No.FS-EN-4/12066 dated 27 November 2007 of Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor is going to create a number of problems for "rank-and-file" importers, an informed market player told www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru).

More specifically, by its circular Rosselkhoznadzor has informed that the applications from the juridical and physical persons willing to be permitted to export/import aquatic biological resources in the year 2008 should be considered as of 28 November 2007.

At the same time, Rosselkhoznadzor has informed that when asked for extra information on produce and/or juridical or physical person the Service will draw up the corresponding enquiries.

In order to optimize issue of seafood export/import permits, participants of external trade should present the documents necessary to draw up the enquiry according to the form specified by the letter of Rosselkhoznadzor No. FS-EN-2/7325 dated 31 July 2007.

The information should be circulated among all the interested participants of external trade, the memo said.
