Saint-Petersburg firms boosting seafood export to EU

JSC ZAO Rybnaya Kompania based in Gatchina in Leningrad Oblast surrounding Saint-Petersburg, OOO Khoma (ltd) based in Lomonosovsky District of Leningrad Oblast and JSC ZAO Nazia from Kirovsky District of Leningrad Oblast have succeeded to increase their seafood exports to EU (mostly to Germany, Switzerland and Austria) to 2500 metric tons through the first eight months of the current year 2006, according to RBC.

In order to simplify export procedure all companies have own licensed microbiological laboratories. However, according to new rules of food supplies to EU countries, exporters should now declare not only production facilities but fishing vessels as well fish landing points as compliant with international sanitary standards.
