According to the new orders recently signed by Russia's PM Vladimir Putin the Barents Sea has been specified as an inshore fishing zone now applicable to the capture quota distribution regime via 10-year shares (such regime was earlier valid for the Russian EEZ (200-mile zone)), reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to Rian.Ru.

The capture quota shares have been fixed to users for the period of 10 years since 2008, the distribution based on the historical principle covering data from the state fishery register on the applicants' catches through the preceding nine years.
