In June 2008 Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor is to inspect Canadian processing plants, according to an official release received by www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru).

This agreement was reached at negotiations in Moscow between the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Russian vet body.

At the meeting the parties discussed the problems of certification of Canadian products. Russian vet authorities are concerned with frequent cases of Canadian vets certificates forgery. In this situation, the Canadian vets plan to switch to new forms of vet certificates with a higher level of forgery safety.
