State veterinary inspectors of Kaliningrad Port have rejected container consignments with frozen tuna imported from Thailand, according to Rosbalt.

When inspecting the containers, the vets have discovered that both the packaging and the fish do not meet the current hygiene standards and international veterinary requirements. Besides, the cargo papers and packing labels have discrepancies. More than 50 tonnes of potentially hazardous w/r fish of unknown origin have been not allowed to be imported into the Russian market. The documents for the containers' restitution are being drawn now.
