Reviewing the results of the repeated inspection Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has approved a number of Vietnamese fish processing plants for fish importation to Russia, a spokesman of Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor told https://www.fishnet.ru/.

From 10 to 28 March 2007 specialists of Rosselkhoznadzor conducted the first check of Vietnamese fish processing plants willing to export their products to Russia. The check disclosed a number of serious faults which prevented their products from complying with the current requirements of the Russian veterinary and sanitary legislation.

According to the results of the recheck of the same plants conducted from 7 to 18 July 2007, the faults discovered in the course of the first check have been eliminated not in full and not at all the plants.

However, taking into account the results of the repeated inspection and the guarantees of the State Veterinary and Fish Quality Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Fisheries, Rosselkhoznadzor has agreed to allow importation of fish and non-finfish products from eleven Vietnamese plants - DL 14, DL 384, DL 07, DL 65, DL 272, DL 365, DL 324, DL 19, DL 347, НК 155 and НК 173. At the same time, Rosselkhoznadzor has informed the State Veterinary Service of Vietnam about the inadmissibility of fish shipments to Russia from non-approved plants. Along with the above, Rosselkhoznadzor has appointed marine ports of Saint-Petersburg and Vladivostok as the legal entry point for the fish products from the above approved plants to cross the state border of the Russian Federation and to do clearance procedures for those products.
