Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has lifted temporary restrictions imposed on importation of seafood products from a US plant, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the Service.

More specifically, under the directive No. FS-GK-4/9150 dated 26 August 2009 the Russian vets have cancelled restrictions for seafood import from the US plant No. 3028288 as of 1 September 2009. Therefore the Service's directive No. FS-NV-4/878 has been declared no more valid in the part concerning introduction of restrictions for the above mentioned plant.

In case of discovery of incompliance of the plant's seafood products with the Russian safety standards the Russian vets shall be immediately informed.
