Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has extended seafood export permits earlier issued for non-approved fish processing plants of Kazakhstan, China and the USA to Russia, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the Service.

More specifically, the above mentioned export permits have been extended to 1 January 2010 after which products shipped from non-approved Kazakh, Chinese and US fish processors are not subject to importation to the Russian Federation.

The extension has partly changed the Service's directive No. FS-AS-4/8323 dated 5 August 2009 and FS-NV-4/8638 dated 12 August 2009.
