June 22, 2009 15:21

Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has lifted temporary restrictions for seafood importation from the Faroese Islands, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the Service.

More specifically, the Service has taken into account official guarantees of the Food and Veterinary Agency of the Faroese Islands which has confirmed that they have eliminated the violations of the Russian hygiene standards earlier disclosed by the Russian vets. Thus, after 15 June 2009 the aquatic biological resources and products made from them shall be shipped from Russia-approved Faroese fish processing companies under the new veterinary certificates.

The updated certificate form in Russian and English is published in the end of the June issue of the Russian Fish Report.
