Russian squid imports displaying good dynamics in the first half of 2008
In the last few years the Russian Federation has been emerging as new important market for squid.
In particular, in the first six months of 2008 the import volume of squid onto the territory of Russia has considerably increased dramatically in volume and value, reports http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/) with reference to provisional unofficial figures of the Russian customs.
The main suppliers of frozen squid on the Russian market were China with total volume of 1 464 153 kg (USD 3 035 569 in value) in the first six months of 2008 and Peru with the total amount of 1 097 165 kg in volume and USD1 296 898 in value.
