Russian salmon importers have welcomed the news of the termination of the Norwegian transport strike ending late Friday evening Saturday, 04 June 2010, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/, (www.fishnet.ru) .

The strike made no great impact on fresh salmon supply to Russia but added to the controversy of unpredictable prices on the market.

The three-week long strike by 1800 employees in the Norwegian transport industry ended late on 4 June 2010, following 12 hours of negotiations at the office of the National Arbitrator.

According to NRK/Aftenposten, the nationwide strike at freight terminals began on May 15th and was extended on May 24th.

The conflict arose over the use of substitutes and the division of work at the freight terminals.

The parties have reached an agreement which ensures equal salary for all.
