Russian Fishery Head confirms participation in International Fishery Congress in Vladivostok

Within the framework of the II International Fishery Congress, which will be held in Vladivostok on September 13-14 2007, it is planned to hold the exhibition "Fishery development prospective - 2007". According to VLADIVOSTOK TIMES, the Head of the Federal Fishery Agency of the RF Ministry of Agriculture, Andrei KRAYNIY, has confirmed his participation in The second International Fishery Congress. As reported by the Head of the Fishery Department of the Primorsky Territory Administration Igor ULEYSKIY.

The program of the Forum includes the plenary session, seminars and round table discussions, the main themes of which will be the urgent issues of the fishery activities: rational use and preservation of the marine living resources, international cooperation on the world seafood market and ecological certification of the fisheries in Russia.

Also within the framework of the International Fishery Congress the exhibition "Fishery development prospect - 2007" will be held.

According to the President of the Association of the Primorye Fishery Industry Companies Georgiy MARTYNOV, the main topics of the discussion at the forthcoming Congress will be the recommendations for reasonable limitations of the fishery business, ban on barbaric exploitation of the marine living resources and restoration of the ecosystems' balance.

As Georgiy MARTYNOV says, it is very important that thanks to such a large scale event these issues will be highlighted at the international level. Besides, the international fishery congresses in the future will become a good exercise before the APEC Forum of 2012, which is also planned to be held in Vladivostok.
