Russian fishermen boosting crab catches

From the beginning of the year 2010 the Russian fishermen harvested 2800 metric tons of crabs. As compared to the same period of 2010, the crab harvest rose by 600 tonnes, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/) with reference to National Centre for Fisheries Monitoring and Communication.

Russia's Far East remained the main area contributing the largest share of the crab harvest. In the Sea of Okhotsk the fishermen harvested 1300 tonnes of crabs and the same volume was contributed by the Sea of Japan.

The total catch from the beginning of the year amounted to 1,118,500 tonnes, of which 1,031,100 tonnes were harvested in the Russian EEZ.
