Russian crab catches showing positive trends

Since the beginning of the year Russian catches of crabs increased, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

Total harvest amounted to 4280 tonnes of crab, 2040 tonnes up on the previous year result.

In the Sea of Okhotsk 2,200 tonnes of crabs were harvested, 82% up in comparison with the figures for the same period 2010.

Total harvest volume in the Sea of Japan amounted to 1,700 tonnes to display a 105% increase on the last year figures.

In the Bering Sea 100 tonnes of crabs were harvested; in North and South Kuriles 200 tonnes were caught.

In foreign zones (namely Argentinean) Russian fishermen harvested 70 tonnes of crab species.
