According to the order of the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary service Rosselkhoznadzor, as of 1 April 2007 Russia will import Icelandic seafood only from nine companies approved for export to the country.

Those nine companies have been selected out of 14 plants checked by the Russian inspectors in January 2007.

The Icelandic side has already forwarded a list of further 25 companies for inspection towards approval to export their seafood products to Russia.
