Russia and Japan complete routine fishery deal

At the end of March 2008 Tokyo hosted the 24-th session of Russian-Japanese mixed fishery commission, according to Russia's State Fishery Committee.

The parties examined the questions of Russian-Japanese cooperation in fishery industry and came to an agreement about the program of scientific and technological cooperation in 2008. The participants of the session also conducted negotiations of specific fishery conditions, catch volumes, regions and the dates of the fishery for salmon of Russian origin in 2008 in Japan's 200-miles EEZ.

The catch volume of salmon of Russian origin in Japan's 200-miles EEZ for the Japanese fishermen has been set at up to 3005 tonnes.
