Rosselkhoznadzor approving veterinary-sanitary certificate for Japanese products

Under its directive No.FS-EN-2/3989 dated 28 April 2007 in addition to letter No.FS-EN-2/2101 dated 13 March 2007 the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary service Rosselkhoznadzor has circulated a veterinary-sanitary certificate for food fish, shellfish/mollusks, etc. and ready-to-eat products exported from Japan to the Russian Federation, the certificate having gained consents from Rosselkhoznadzor, Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery and Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Wealth. The certificate form is multistage protected.

As of 7 May 2007 the above certificate will be issued by the Japanese association for inspecting frozen food products under the continuous control of the nation's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery and Ministry of Health, Labour and Wealth.

The certificate form presents the following stages of forgery protection:

  • a hologram of the Japanese flag in the left corner of the face front and back sides of the set form;
  • special printing adding the word "COPY" and an inscription in Japanese language in case the set form is copied;
  • the words "Fisheries Agency" are printed as the background picture in the centre of the set form and the words corresponding to "Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, Ministry of Health, Labour and Wealth" in the Japanese, Russian and English languages are printed all over the set form from the below left corner towards the upper right corner.

The given order has been brought to the notice of all the inferior organizations of Rosselkhoznadzor as well as interested companies engaged in foreign trade.
