Red king crab TACs in the Russian Far East changed

On 15 June 2007 TINRO-centre fishery research institute conducted public hearings on the TACs 2008.

As for red king crab, the TAC of the species has been decreased. While in February 2007 the TINRO-centre recommended the red king crab TAC 2008 at 5294 tonnes, now after a discussion with VNIRO research institute, the scientists recommend the TAC at 3455 tonnes with the figure forwarded for further consents and approvals.

More specifically, the scientists have decreased the red king crab TAСs by 1800 tonnes in the West Kamchatka shelf and 36 tonnes in the Primorye subarea.
