According to the Steering Board for Pangasius Export to Russia, after a short interruption in late 2009, Pangasius exports to Russia have experienced an increase in the recent months, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to VASEP.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Minh, Head of the Steering Board, forecast Pangasius exports to Russia is on upward trend in the coming months and might reach US$100 million in 2010. Minh attributed such growth to adjustments in Russia's import policies which make this market more potential for exporters with high demand and improved credit-worthiness.

From January to April of this year, Viet Nam already shipped 5, 504MT of Pangasius to Russia, valued at nearly US$9.289 million, with higher average export price than 2009.
