Overview of Russian import of Alaska pollock and Alaska pollock meat in 2009 and in 1Q 2010
Russian import in 1Q 2010
According to the statistical data, total import of Alaska pollock fillets and Alaska pollock meat to Russia in the first quarter of 2010 amounted to about 6,240 tonnes including Russian products aimed for further exportation (5,572 tonnes). Margin import of APO fillets and meat to Russia amounted to 668 tonnes, much less in comparison with 1,879 tonnes imported to Russia in the first quarter 2009.
Major part of the import volume of APO fillet and meat was contributed by China - 659 tonnes and the rest of the volume was supplied from Germany - about 9 tonnes.
Average import price of APO fillet and meat from China amounted to RUR45.56 per kilo against RUR63.50 in the same period 2009.

Total import of APO fillet and meat to Russia in 2009 amounted to about 32,626 tonnes including Russian products meant for further export (22,480 tonnes). Margin import of APO fillet and meat to Russia amounted to 15,146 tonnes, down from 19,638 tonnes imported in 2008.
The major part of the total import volume of APO fillet and meat was contributed by China - 15,067 tonnes (against 19,453 tonnes in 2008), while the rest was imported from Germany and amounted to about 80 tonnes (107 tonnes in 2008).
