During the period under review there have been many interesting developments on the market of St. Petersburg, Russia's main entry port for seafood, trading sources told http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).

Below follow more details on particular species with average prices given as ex-coldstore VAT inclusive for quantities of between 1-10 metric tons unless specified otherwise.

Prices for the size 350+ were decreasing from RUB38.00 per kilo in early October to RUB34.00 per kilo in the middle of the month. In the shortterm outlook the traders kept forecasting a price decrease until the 10th of November 2007.

The size 400+ was practically unavailable on the market.

Russian herring 220-240+ poorly graded product classified as large and fat was offered from RUB13.50 in mid-September appreciating to RUB18.50 per kilo in the middle of October in Saint Petersburg.

Russian herring fillets were offered from RUB38.00 per kilo of the size 6/10 in Saint Petersburg.
