February 6, 2007 16:31

At recent herring negotiations Russia, Norway, Iceland, Faeroese Islands and EU have agreed on new requirements for seafood supplies to the European ports to be in force as of 1 May 2007.

Now, apart from reporting the cargo size and range, the Russian seafood cargo owners should present confirmation of its ship flag country about the seafood origin and legality of fishery operations.

The news has already been circulated among Murmansk-based shipowners.
