National Fish Quality to return under State Fisheries Committee

The State Fisheries Committee is planning to bring back GUP National Center of Quality and Safety of Fishery Products (National Fish Quality for short) which has been performing a number functions of fish veterinary control under the umbrella of the Ministry of Agriculture, according to the Committee's head Andrey Krainy as quoted by Kommersant.

More specifically, the National Fish Quality was subordinate to the State Fisheries Committee until 2004 when it moved under the aegis of the nation's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor.

The new development has come forward as one of the latest measures of the revived State Fisheries Committee willing to concentrate all the industry's powers in one hand.
