Seafood exports from Murmansk doubled in January 2021

In January 2021 Murmansk suppliers exported 9,000 metric tons of finfish and other aquatic species or twice more as compared to 4,500 tonnes delivered to the international market in January 2020, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to Murmansk department of Russia’s vet watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, traditionally, frozen cod was the biggest export article accounting for 54% (4,900MT) of the total export volume.

Haddock and cod fillets were another important articles altogether making up 3,000 tonnes. Other popular products were haddock fillets, halibut and flounder.

Murmansk fish was delivered mostly to the EU states, Norway and China.
