Russia's Federal Customs Service together with Association of Fish Producers and Traders have developed a Green corridor regime for customs clearance and control of seafood products imported to the country, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

The simplified regime of quick customs control should be applied to those Russian participants of external trade who correspond to a number of criteria concerning authorized capital (at least RUR 15 million), annual turnover (more than RUR 120 million), transparency of accounting and reporting system and experience of external trade operations (at least 3 years). Importers applying for participation in the project should have direct contracts with suppliers and pay for imported goods directly to foreign suppliers without use of offshore companies. Besides, they should have no violations of customs and tax legislation.

The Green corridor regime will mean minimum number of customs checks, no extra control of declared information on goods and their cost. Important condition for acceleration of customs control procedures is advance presentation of provisional electronic information on imported goods to the customs bodies.

The Green corridor project is supposed to raise tax disbursements to the budget, increase transparency of customs clearance of fish goods, speed up customs control and finally provide consumers with high quality fish products.
