Russian vets find Listeria in products of Chilean and Peruvian seafood suppliers
The Russian vet authority Rosselkhoznadzor has issued warnings due to contamination of imported shipments of various food products, including seafood but not limited to seafood, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor (FSVPS for short).
Monitoring tests of pork imported from German Plant DE MV-EZ 202 EG (Danish Crown GmbH Boizenburg) detected Listeria and E.coli. Listeria was detected in pork from German Plant DE ST 01172 EG (Fleischzentrum Rettstadt OHG), mesophilic aerobic and facultatively anaerobic microorganisms were detected in pork fat from French Plants FR 79 246 02 CE (COOPERL ARC ATLANTIQUE) and FR 29 233 01 CE (GROUPE BIGARD); mesophilic aerobic and facultatively anaerobic microorganisms and E.coli were detected in pork from French plant FR 29 097 01 CE (GAD SAS); DNA from ruminants was detected in porcine meal from France from plant FR 22 371 04 (VALAB S.A.S.); E.coli was detected in pork from Canada from Plant 391 (Conestoga Meat Packers Ltd.); mesophilic aerobic and facultatively anaerobic microorganisms and E.coli were detected in deboned poultry meat from the Nethrlands from plant NL 5033 (Polskamp B.V); Listeria was detected in pork fat from Belgium from Plant F273 (Dhagrameat); Listeria was detected in rabbit meat from China from Plant 2200/03077 (Jilin Kangda Food Co., Ltd.); Listeria was detected in beef flank from Ireland from Plant 350 (Dawn Meats (Exports) Ltd); Listeria was detected in squids from Chile from Plant 05269 (Sociedad Pescadores S.A.); E.coli was detected in poultry meat from Hungary from Plant HU 332; Listeria was detected in poultry meat from the USA from Plant P-1272 (Pilgrim̕s Pride); Listeria was detected in trout from Peru from plant P157-CAL-TCAI (Tecnologica de Alimentos S.A.); Listeriua was detected in mutton from Moldova from Plant OOO “Lemos Karne” ; E.coli was detected in poultry meal from Denmark from plant alfa-208-G756679 (Scanmills AS) used for production of feeds for non-productive animals.
Taking into account that Peruvian Plant P157-CAL-TCAI and Chinese Plant 2200/03077 committed violations for the second time, the Rosselkhoznadzor considers it necessary to impose temporary restrictions on import from these plants.
In addition to it, the Rosselkhoznadzor warns the state veterinary services of Germany (plants DE MV-EZ 202 EG, ST 01172 EG), France (plants FR 29 233 01 CE, FR 29 097 01 CE, FR 79 246 02 CE, FR 22 371 04), the Netherlands (Plant NL 5033), Canada (plant 391), Belgium (plant F 273), Chile (plant 05269), the USA (plant P-1272), Hungary (Plant HU 332), Moldova (Plant OOO “Lemos Karne”), Denmark (Plant alfa-208-G756679), Ireland (Aplnt 350) about the necessity to take measures ensuring safety of products imported to Russia and enhances laboratory control for products from these plants fro the indicated safety criteria.
