Russian Government simplifying VAT exemption procedure for fish exporters

October 19, 2011 11:31

The Russian Government has proposed to offer the nation's fish exporters VAT preferences, including simpler routine for applying for zero VAT for the fishermen bringing seafood to home port for clearance and further export to the international markets, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

According to the respective draft order (recently introduced by Russia's Cabinet to the Lower House for consideration), those vessels who call at home port for clearance and further export without unloading the fish cargo in the port (thus the products are not landed in Russia) will have no need to provide a copy of a shipping order for exported goods when applying for VAT exemption privilege.

As a result, more Russian fish exporters will enjoy the zero VAT regime.
