Russia displaying further surge of fish fillet output in August

According to Rosstat, in August 2021 Russia produced 378 thousand metric tons of frozen fish, 17.3% more year-on-year, but 6.4% less than in July 2021. During the first eight months of 2021, the nation’s total frozen fish output amounted to 2.1 million tonnes, 1.7% less YOY, reports MegaFishnet.com.

In the meantime, August output of frozen fish fillets totalled 18.4 thousand tonnes, 43.5% more than in August last year and 3.7% less than in July 2021. Chilled fish fillet production amounted to 277 tonnes, 5.9% more YOY, and 34.3% less than in July 2021.

In August 2021, 37.1 million conventional canned fish units were produced, 13.6% and 8.2% lower than in August 2020 and July 2021, respectively. Fish preserves - 35.4 million canned fish units, 81.7% and 36.6% more than in August 2020 and July 2021, respectively.
