The meeting took place upon the initiative of the Indian party. The First Secretary of the Embassy of India in Russia Amit Telang expressed his satisfaction over the development of the Russian – Indian cooperation in food product export.

Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor’s Department for Inspection Activities Vasily Lavrovsky informed Amit Telang that a preliminary report of inspection of Indian plants interested in export of animal products to the Russian Federation carried out by the Rosselkhoznadzor specialists would be sent on December 8. But even now the Rosselkhoznadzor deemed it possible to authorize export of buffalo meat from four Indian plants using CU common veterinary certificates. The safety of exported meat will be ensured in compliance with a bilateral protocol. In the nearest future a Rosselkhoznadzor expert will go to India to inspect meat consignments destined for the Russian Federation. Great attention in the course of the negotiations was given to the development of a joint system of e-certification and product tracing which will be able to prevent smuggling and counterfeiting of products. Amit Telang also addressed to the Rosselkhoznadzor with a request to consider the possibility of export authorization from 52 Indian fish-processing plants.
