Kamchatka boosting seafood shipments to China

Since the start of the year to July 22, 2021, the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Kamchatka Territory and the Chukotka Autonomous District has issued 2,415 veterinary certificates for 65,848 tons of fish products as the above goods from Kamchatka producers have been sent to 18 countries, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to the region’s vet watchdog, most of the fish and seafood was sent to China – 42,799 tons. Compared to the same period in 2020, the export of fish products to China increased by 154%.

The main types of products intended for export were fish and fish products (57,894 tons), roe (1,441 tons), fishmeal for feed (6,498 tons), as well as live crab (14.8 tons).

In addition, fish products were exported to Vietnam (48 tons), the United States (1,561 tons), the European Union (1,807 tons), France (1,099 tons), Germany (3,573 tons), the Netherlands (1,925 tons), Korea (8,137 tons).

All products met the veterinary requirements of the importing countries.

Before shipment, each batch of products was examined for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus RNA in flushes from the packaging surfaces in samples (1,765 studies). All the results were negative.
