Domestic fish sales picking up in the Russian Far East
Russia’s New Year holidays have come to an end and domestic fish sales from the Russian Far East have quickly gathered momentum, reports Megafishnet.com.
As per mid-January herring enjoys especially good demand. Alaska pollock enjoys a certain demand as well, though it is linked to low price. The Chinese ports are closed for transport vessels with only container cargoes unloaded. Transport vessels with new catches onboard are heading for the Russian and Korean ports.
Frozen seafood delivery tariff from Vladivostok to Moscow by railway is stable at RUR12-13 per kg.
Alaska pollock
APO HG price keeps on falling.
On the international market Russian HG pollock 25+ is quickly going down from USD1,250-1,300 to USD970-980 per tonne CFR China. The reasons are delivery problems and seasonal demand drop combined .

Herring enjoys good demand, especially the Olyutorsky herring and the Okhotsk herring 300+. The demand for the Okhotsk herring 200-300 remains weak.
Most of Okhotsk herring keeps on going for export.
Price for Okhotsk herring 200-300 g is stable at USD650-670 per tonne CFR China/Korea. 300-400 herring is sold at USD720-770 per tonne CFR China/Korea. The demand remains strong.
