The International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organisation (IFFO) has invited Vladivostok-based Alaska Pollock Fishermen's Association as a leading fishmeal producer in the Russian Far East to become IFFO's member, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

APO Association's members are main producers of fish products in Russia's Far East. In 2010 Russia's APO-based fishmeal production amounted to 28,000 MT, 94% of which were contributed by the Association's members.

World demand for fishmeal considerably exceeds its supply and IFFO is interested in cooperation with the Russia's biggest supplier of fishmeal as to promotion of Russian fishmeal on the world market.

The International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organisation (IFFO) is the international non-profit organisation which represents fishmeal and fish oil producers and related trades throughout the world.  IFFO's vision is to enhance human and livestock health and welfare via superior nutrition to the benefit of consumers worldwide.

IFFO members represent nearly two-thirds of world production plus around 80% of fishmeal and fish oil exports worldwide.
