Launch of large cannery to consolidate Kaliningrad's leadership in canned fish production

Kaliningrad-based Roskon Company has opened a large cannery in the town of Pionersky in Kaliningrad region.

Roskon has invested about RUB 547 million in building the huge complex, press service of the company told Rosbalt.

The new facility is equipped with 3 lines for producing various types of canned fish from different sea fish species. The design capacity amounts to 8 million cans per month.

It is worth mentioning, that the Roskon Company is located within Special Economic Zone and that is why the company is exempt from property- and profit-tax for a period of 6 years and after the 6 year period expires the tax rate will be 50% from the regular figure.

Before the launch of the new cannery, Kaliningrad region already produced about 280 million of nominal cans of fish per year contributing 48% of the total national production in this category.
