The fishermen of Kamchatka have completed filing applications for 20 year entitlement to salmon fishing sites, according to Vostok-Media.

For the first time in the newest history of Kamchatka the fishermen have a chance to get marine and river fishing sites allocated for a period as long as 20 years.

At present, the officials are sizing up preliminary results of the tender. The local commission in charge will define the list of leaders in the competition and after that the documents will be submitted to the State Fisheries Committee (now under transformation into Federal Fisheries Agency) for further approval.

The priority in this process will be given to those companies that have their own processing facilities, have taken up most thoroughly the quotas of the previous period and whose stuff has been registered on the administrative territory of fishing area. Another important criterium will be the highest bid for the 20 year license.
