The ranching stations of Kamchatka have released salmon juveniles to the rivers, according to the local government.

The largest salmon ranching plant in Kamchatka "Paratunski" was the first to release juveniles. More than 15 million smolts left its hatcheries.

During the spawning period of salmon in 2007 about 42.5 million eggs of chum salmon, king salmon, sockeye salmon, pink salmon and coho salmon were placed into the plants' nurseries. In 2008 it is planned to release more than 38 million juveniles to the rivers of Kamchatka. In 2-4 years (depending on the species) the salmon will come back to the rivers to support the highly important fishery.

At present there are 5 ranching stations operating in Kamchatka: Ketkinski, Viluiski, Paratynski, Malkinski and "Ozerki".
