Russia’s Federal Agency for Fisheries (FAF) has distributed crab fishing quotas for investment purposes among the auction winners for the year 2021 in the Russian Far East, reports Megafishnet.com.

The companies purchased the quota shares at dedicated auctions in 2019-2020 and the quotas 2021 were assigned to users by Order No. 681 dated December 11, 2020.

According to FAF, the winner companies getting the quotas along with the obligation to build crab fishing vessels in Russia include "Merlion", "Aqua-Invest", "Antey", "Atlantic Crab", "Kamchatka Crab", "Pacific Crab", "Voskhod", "Mag-Sea International", "Ostrovnoy-Crab", "Sever", "TRK", "Far Eastern Coast" and "Alestar".

Quotas were also allocated to JSC Tephida which happened to be the only bidder at the less lucrative deep-water crabs auction in 2020.

Full details of species, volumes and fishing areas are available in the Sortable E-Guide of Russian Companies' offshore and inshore quotas for fishery in 2021.
