HB GRANDI’S SEAMEN’S DAY FAMILY CELEBRATION

To celebrate this Sunday’s Seamen’s Day, HB Grandi is holding a family event at the company’s premises at Nordurgardur in Reykjavík.

The schedule is similar to those held in previous years. Those appearing include Lazy Town, Pippi Longstocking and Skoppa & Skrítla. There will also be a filleting competition with several well-known figures taking part.

There will be fish soup, cod bites, cakes, and more offered for guests to enjoy,. Conjuror Einar Einstaki will be doing card tricks and HB Grandi will be giving away decks of cards. The stilt walkers from the Icelandic Circus will be there and they’ll also be doing face painting. There will be activities for children of all ages and a lively schedule of events for all the family. As in previous years, the Nordurgardur festival area will be open from 1300 on Sunday.

There will be plenty going on around the harbour in Reykjavík this weekend, stretching from Grandagardur to Harpa. The Festival of the Sea is held by Associated Icelandic Ports and the Reykjavík Seamen’s Day committee, with a great many others taking part in organising the day’s events.
