The world’s premier seafood industry trade show, Seafood Expo Global, opens in Brussels this week. As in previous years, HB Grandi staff will be on hand to present the company’s products. This will be the eleventh time that HB Grandi takes part at the Brussels show under its own brand name and this year we can be found on Stand 1533 in Hall 7.

Ever since HB Grandi began marketing its own products under its own name a decade ago, the company has had a stand under the Promote Iceland umbrella. But due an expanded product line, it became clear that the company needed a larger presence. With no possibility of expanding within the Promote Iceland stand, the decision was taken to display independently and this year the company has twice as much space available as in previous years. The stand has been developed by the Icelandic Ad Agency and built by a Dutch company. As an indication of the increased product range, partly as a result of acquiring the companies Vignir G. Jónsson and Laugafiskur, now HB Grandi offers dried products and further processed row products. Additionally, after investing in new technology such as water-jet cutting machines and the Revo Portioner, the product line has expanded.

‘This is the largest exhibition event in the field and the only major marketing event that we organise outside Iceland. We’ve in the past had a stand at other exhibitions, but experience has shown that this is the only exhibition that we fully participate in with our own stand. Our marketing staff attend other exhibitions, but we don’t have our own stand there,’ commented HB Grandi marketing manager Brynjólfur Eyjólfsson in conversation with the company’s newsletter Þúfa.

There is little doubt that this will be an exceptional event with 24 of HB Grandi’s staff on duty in Brussels during the Seafood Expo Global event that opens on 22nd April and last for three days.
