Russian veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has making great efforts to restore the nation’s seafood exports to the previous level. In particular, they have completed re-registration of Russian fish producers and carriers. Now the list of Russian companies approved for export to China includes 1089 entities, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, other important export markets have been also successfully developed. One of the achievements of 2021 is the access for Russian fish to the domestic market of Vietnam. Currently, the Vietnamese side has certified 27 Russian seafood producers as approved for import. A simplified procedure for the assessment of the Russian exporters has been agreed with the competent authority.

As part of the export development campaign, the Rosselkhoznadzor organizes business trips of representatives of foreign competent authorities to Russia. Against the background of difficult epidemiological situation in the world, new methods of audits and inspections of enterprises interested in export have been developed. So, in 2021, the Main Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China conducted video inspections of several Russian suppliers of poultry, beef, fish products, dairy products, including ice cream.

Specialists of the competent department of Ecuador checked five Russian producers of artemia cysts online. Along with them, six Russian fish processing enterprises/vessels were checked by video on behalf of the South Korean surveillance body.
