Icelandic fishing fleet at the end of 2010

At the end of the year 2010 the total number of fishing vessels, registered at the Icelandic Maritime Administration, was 1,625. The number increased by 43 vessels from the previous year, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Norges Sildesalgslag.

The number of decked vessels was 761 and their combined size was 83,457 gross tonnages (GT). The number of decked vessels had decreased by 7 items and their total size by 3,312 GT.

The number of trawlers was 57 at the end of 2010 and their total size amounted to 65,087 GT. The number of trawlers decreased by one from previous year and their combined size decreased by 2,783 GT. The number of registered undecked vessels was 807 in 2010 and 3,857 GT. Undecked vessels increased by 51 in number from 2009 and their total size by 242 GT.
