May 24, 2010 10:23

About ten Icelandic trawlers have been engaged in this fishery, just inside Iceland´s fishing limits, since the start of the season in early May, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Iceland Seafood International.

According to media reports the catch has been good.   In addition to the Icelandic vessels, there are 25 to 30 foreign trawlers in the area, just outside the fishing limits, also going for the deepsea redfish.  It is now reported that the Icelandic trawlers are moving outside the limits because fishing on the inside in no longer sufficient to sustain full freezing operation on board.
