Frozen pelagics: High hopes for the season

In 2009 the Icelandic fishing industry exported frozen Norwegian-Icelandic herring in the value of  ISK 11 billion, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Iceland Seafood International.

The estimate for the current season is ISK 15 billion (Eur. 95.5 million, based on the current rate of exchange).  The figures for frozen mackerel products are similar:  the exports in 2009 were ISK 11 billion and the estimate for 2010 is ISK 16 billion (Eur. 101.9 million).
