Frozen fish market situation in Murmansk as per 5 February 2008
As per 5 February2008 the fresh frozen fish market situation has been marked by certain changes, market players based in Murmansk told http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).
During the last week the average prices of blue whiting have gone slightly down.
The market players are showing a keen interest in capelin of the Russian origin, but at this stage the fleets have not priced the species yet.
A stable demand for Russian poorly graded herring classified as large and fat, and the prices of herring 200 - 300g have stabilized at the level of RUB21.50 per kilo.
The prices of ground fish species have remained high, especially of the products frozen at sea. For instance, the prices of cod frozen at sea reach RUB100-110 per kilo, of spotted sea cat up to RUB97.00 per kilo.
