Frozen fish market situation in Murmansk as per 18 November 2008
As per 18 November 2008 the fresh frozen fish market situation has been marked by certain changes, market players based in Murmansk told http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).
The fishery for polar cod (Boreogadus saida) has been going on. The demand for this species has not been large and the prices have come slightly down in comparison with the initial offers prior to landing.
The herring season has been coming to an end. The prices of small-sized herring of the Russian origin have been stable and varied from RUB21.50 to 22.00 per kilo depending on the carton. Meanwhile, the prices of the Norwegian herring have decreased to some extent.
There appeared offers of headed mackerel of Icelandic origin.
Last week certain decreases of prices of cod and halibut were observed.
